The coat of arms

The black eagle of Saint John the Evangelist, on a gold background, holding a green olive branch in its talons. The oldest emblem, a thirteenth century seal, joins in its motifs collectively, the half eagle of the Silesian Piast Duke of Wrocław, who at that time was the owner, and lilies which indicate the diocese of Wrocław and in particular Bishop Tomasz I, founder of Paczków. Later seals with the motif of Saint John the Evangelist refer to the patron of the town parish church - Saint John the Evangelist and therefore make use of his attributes, as is confirmed by the words on one of the town seals (from the mid fourteenth century): "IN PRINCIPIO ERAT VERB (um)".
